Where the risk gets in

Your inbox is where the risk gets in.

Client instructions, advice documents and ID move through email every day. Licensees now expect practices to show their cyber controls, not just describe them.

01

Withdrawal and rollover instructions by email

A compromised client mailbox asks to redirect funds. The request is polite, urgent and convincing, and it is the fraud ASIC has already seen.

Client Instruction Guard Available now
02

“Describe your cyber controls”

Licensees ask practices to evidence MFA, patching, endpoint protection, backups and training. A spreadsheet filled in once a year does not answer that.

Insurer & licensee submissions Available now
03

Advice records spread across inboxes

Seven years of advice records should be retrievable on request. When they live in adviser mailboxes, they are neither safe nor findable.

04

Complaints that slip past day 30

A complaint that arrives as a casual email can sit unrecognised. The 30-day clock starts anyway.

Complaints & Breach Register Available now

What’s changed

The obligations your practice already carries.

The rules that already apply to advice practices and their licensees, and the one arriving this year.

ASIC v Fortnum, 2026

$1.35 million for weak cyber oversight

Fortnum Private Wealth admitted it failed to adequately oversee and monitor the cyber resilience of its more than 200 authorised advisers. Expect your licensee to ask for verified evidence, not self-attestation.

Advice records on demand

Personal advice records must be kept for seven years and given to your licensee on request.

Complaint and breach clocks

Standard complaints must be resolved within 30 calendar days, and licensees must report reportable situations to ASIC within 30 days.

Privacy Act transparency

OAIC
One team, three layers

Automation only works on a foundation that is already secure.

Most automation agencies bolt workflows onto whatever IT they find. We run the IT and the security first, so every product we install sits on a tenant we already know is locked down.

  • Managed IT. Helpdesk, Microsoft 365, devices, backup and quarterly reviews. $185 per user per month, published.
  • Cyber security. Essential Eight baseline, Microsoft Defender, Intune and Purview set up properly, monitored around the clock.
  • Practice Automation. Five products built for financial advice practices, each with a published price, installed in your own tenant.

Custom builds · Any industry

Not on the list? We’ll build it.

The products cover the jobs most practices share. Your business has its own. Tell us the job that eats your team’s week and we’ll scope a custom automation inside your Microsoft 365, quoted at a fixed price before we start.

  • Any industry. If the work runs through email, files, spreadsheets or forms, it can usually be automated.
  • Review first, fixed quote second. Thirty minutes with an engineer, then a written scope and price. No payment until you approve it.
  • Built and managed by us. In your own tenant, secured by the team that already looks after your IT.
Evisent Insights · Sold separately

What principals see across the practice.

Ongoing fee arrangements still to sign, CPD hours by adviser, the next file audit, and the breach and complaints registers, next to cash. Drawn from the systems you already use, and it runs in your own Microsoft tenant, so the data stays with you.

Sold separately: not part of Managed IT plans, and you don't need to be a managed client. Builds start from $4,950 ex GST, depending on the modules, the data sources we connect and the customisation involved. Every build is quoted at a fixed fee first.

Straight answers

Questions practices ask first.

Can you give our licensee evidence of our cyber controls?

Yes. Evisent Live reads your cyber controls from your own systems every morning, and the dated Live Evidence Pack goes to your licensee every month. For an attestation, Insurer & licensee submissions completes it from that evidence and attaches the pack. Both need Evisent Managed IT underneath them.

How do you stop withdrawal and rollover fraud?

A compromised or spoofed client email asking to redirect funds is flagged, and a call-back to a number already on file is assigned and logged before anyone acts on it. We cannot block a payment in your banking or platform, so the call-back has to be part of your process.

Do you work with Xplan?

Yes. Our standard stack for advice practices is Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Xplan. Other advice platforms and licensee-mandated registers are quoted after a practice review.

How much does managed IT cost for an advice practice?

$185 per user per month, ex GST, published on our Managed IT page; Microsoft 365 licences are billed separately. That covers the helpdesk, Microsoft 365, devices, backup, an Essential Eight security baseline and quarterly reviews.

Where is our client data stored?

Data that needs to stay in Australia stays here, in your Microsoft 365 tenant or our Australian Azure. Where a project genuinely benefits from a more capable overseas model, we use it only for data that is allowed to leave, with your sign-off.
